Welcome to the webside of the Center for Comparative European Studies (ZEUS), University of Cologne

ZEUS is an interdisciplinary teaching and research center which promotes a cross-disciplinary dialogue and research cooperation within the field of European Studies at Cologne’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities. ZEUS brings together historians, art historians, scholars of European literature and musicologists whose approaches and research interests are concerned with different aspects of European culture. At the same time, the Center provides an interdisciplinary platform for exchange for PhD-students of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Cologne concerning the field of European Studies. It welcomes students and guests from outside to take part in its activities and discussions. In 2010/2011, the current research of the PhD group and lectures organized by ZEUS are framed by the overall topic of „A Europe of knowledge - Knowledge of Europe.“
